Moveo performing arts residencies

As a commitment to the performing arts and movement base artists, we make our space available to creators of physical theatre. We do this through two residency programs, aiming at:

• Promote young, contemporary and quality creation.
• Facilitate the possibility for the artist to be not only a performer, but also to create and carry out their own projects.
• Promote the autonomy of performing arts artists who have recently completed their studies.
• Promote a unique space in Barcelona specialised in the experimentation and development of physical theatre.
• To encourage and support the growth of  physical theatre in order to strengthen its identity as a genre.
• To promote the optimization of resources for creation: poverty of resources equals richness of imagination.
• To encourage dialogue and exchange between artists and professionals from all over the world.

The aim of our theatre and dance residencies is to open our centre and space to new work, and help in our own way to create new work.

LAB RESIDENCY

Call for companies in different stages of their devising process of a movement arts show and looking for a rehearsal space. The services offered are:

• Space for research, creation and rehearsal
• Possibility of creative advice in the form of an external view, according to the needs of the project.

In the terms and conditions of the call, you can consult the necessary documentation to apply for a residency at Moveo, as well as the Application Form.

The hours and periods of residencies will be agreed between the companies and MOVEO, according to the needs of the project and the availability of the space, preferably between July 1st and September 30th.

The next call for residencies will open on March 10th and close on April 10th, 2025. 

The Moveo Centre also receives applications for residencies during the rest of the year, which will be accepted based on space availability and giving preference to projects that have gone through the selection process.

PROFESSIONALISATION SUPPORT PROGRAM

The Professionalisation Support Program consists of  an accompaniment in the creation of a movement based devised show by young artists and companies that have recently finished their performing studies and are beginning to develop a creation project.

The following activities and resources are offered:

• Research, creation and rehearsal space
• Creative coaching during the devising process
• Help and guidance for the production of the show
• Technical advice on lighting and sound
• Exhibition of the work in progress and premiere of the projects, according to the needs and characteristics of each piece
• Specific training in the performing arts

The next call for residencies will open on May 12th and close on May 30th, 2025.
