Poetics and universality in physical theatre

With this meeting we also seek to enhance the tools offered in order to achieve an organic, lively and theatrical understanding of the scenic event. And as Marcel Marceau used to say “finally, finally touch the soul of the spectator”. Themes of study:

Juan Carlos Agudelo Plata:

Theatre director, visual dramatist and physical actor. Direct disciple of Marcel Marceau, member of the MARCEAU company for 7 years and trained in corporal mime with Corinne Soum and Steven Wasson. He is a promoter of dramatic corporeal mime in the main dance and theatre schools and universities in the country. He directs and advises visual and circus shows. Founder and artistic director of “Casa del Silencio”, Colombian company specialising in physical theatre. Awarded the Idartes prize for directors with a trajectory, with the creation project “La Celebración un gesto de deseo” 2011. His most outstanding creations, “Kokoro bizarre melodrama for physical theatre”, “Woyzeck a lament in silence”, “Vai Vem” Colombian-Portuguese co-production and “Grises” show inspired by Samuel Beckett’s Act Without Words II. Theatre creation award from the Colombian Ministry of Culture 2016, with the creative project “Manú o la ilusión del tiempo”. Founder and artistic director of the National School of physical theatre “Le Geste”. “Adentro Gastóm y Mandí” a physical theatre show for masks, co-production with the Teatro Mayor Julio Mario Santo Domingo. ACA 2024 Award as best actor in physical theatre with the show “Efímero” by Casa del Silencio.
