Guy Nader and Maria Campos
Partnering

Weekend Course

This workshop is based on partnering and contact work. We will propose different ways of working based on contact, giving weight, finding a common axis, counterbalance, balance, moving together in space using each other, studying how to carry/receive each other's weight (portés). We will work on the ability to trust our partner and take risks. Sequences will be created and composed based on the principles of partnering through specific physical tasks.

This workshop introduces us to the vocabulary of physical work developed by GN | MC in the creative process. Tasks and starting points for entering a world of imagination where the body is approached from different perspectives. Seeking mechanisms of the body in motion, observing movement in order to multiply the paths and approaches to understanding movement and the body. Within all these elements, we expand our own tools for improvising, exploring and creating material, as well as other generators of movement.

Course Objectives

In this course, with Guy Nader and Maria Campos, the following topics will be covered:

• Seek a risky, demanding and energetic physicality • Combine the strength and delicacy of your own body to encompass a broad spectrum of the imagination. • Discover and provide different body landscapes • Experiment with new ways of approaching the relationship between two or more bodies through contact work, ‘partnering,’ and the development of physical strategies and tasks.
