Physical Theatre workshop

Due to the overwhelming response to our Summer Course and the fact that all places have now been filled, Moveo is launching a new intensive course this September so that no one misses out. This is a new opportunity to explore the key principles of Dramatic Corporeal Mime in a creative and multicultural environment, just before the start of the academic year.

The aim of this physical theatre course is to deepen body awareness and expand expressive possibilities through movement, helping participants develop their artistic resources, stage presence, and creativity, while placing the body at the service of the imagination.

Over the course of an intensive week of afternoon sessions, participants are invited to explore at their own pace within a creative and multicultural environment, discovering new ways of expression and communication through the body.

Furthermore, this Moveo summer course in physical theatre and corporeal mime can serve as an entrance exam for the diploma programme at the Moveo Centre, allowing students to engage in direct dialogue with the programme’s tutors and experience the core teaching principles of the Centre’s professional training</ p

Objectives of the Summer Physical Theatre Course

The following topics will be covered during the physical theatre summer course:

Stage presence: muscular tone and dramatic intent
Physical articulation and spatial articulation
Weight as a dramatic tool
Study of movement
Dinamo-rhythms and textures of movement
Introduction to the repertoire of corporeal mime
Physical dialogue and stage relationships
Improvisation
Creative exercises

This course is aimed at professionals and students of the performing arts, anyone interested in physical theatre, and artists from other fields interested in the arts of movement and theatricality. This course offers a space to deepen your study and practice.

Due to its international nature, the course may be taught in English and in Spanish.

Teaching Staff

The Moveo Summer Workshop is led by a team of experienced teachers, who ensure that students enjoy a rich and varied learning experience. The teaching team includes Olivier Decriaud, Stéphane Lévy and Sophie Kasser, who bring decades of experience in mime and physical theatre, as well as a wealth of artistic experience as actors and directors.

They are joined by Wong Chun Him (Bosco), Pau García and Laia Campamà, who bring fresh perspectives and energy to the course. Together, this team ensures a holistic and inspiring educational environment for the students on our physical theatre course.
