The Moveo Diploma programme

Composition brings together the study of the principles that help students organise and develop their creative processes, whether working alone, in pairs or in groups.
The aim is to stimulate each student’s creativity and broaden their knowledge of all aspects of the creative process. It is a vast field of study that encompasses the following elements:

• Composition of the physical phrase
• Dramatic articulation
• Combinations of different stage elements (text, music, etc.)
• Spatial relationships and causality
• Rules for transposing an action
• Metaphorisation of movement
• Use of objects and props
• Methodologies and principles of dramaturgy

During May and June, work at Moveo focuses intensively on the creation and production of a physical theatre performance, a practical culmination that allows students to apply and consolidate all the principles and elements studied throughout the academic year.
This crucial phase is a collective and immersive process. The performance is closely directed and guided by the Moveo teaching team, who accompany the students every step of the way. All students actively participate in the entire creative process, from the initial conception to the final performance. This includes not only performance, but also involvement in all aspects of stage creation, fostering holistic and experiential learning.
The starting point for these creations is diverse and stimulating. The performance can take many different forms: from the physical adaptation of a literary or cinematic work, where students are challenged to translate words and images into expressive, theatrical movement, to the creation of a completely original piece based on physical improvisations and explorations developed by the students themselves.
This approach not only hones their technical and artistic skills, but also develops their ability to work in a team, their leadership skills and their problem-solving abilities within a creative environment.
The culmination of this intense creative period comes with the public performance of the show in a theatre. This real-world experience in front of an audience is an essential part of the training at our physical theatre school, offering a platform for students to experiment with different techniques and creative approaches, and to validate their work in a pre-professional context.

At Centro Moveo, we view physical and stage training as a holistic process. The complementary subjects do not function as isolated disciplines, but as languages that engage in dialogue with one another and enrich the core practice of corporeal mime.

Each subject provides specific tools to develop a more responsive, sensitive and creative body, capable of adapting to different dynamics of movement, presence and communication. The pedagogical aim is not merely to acquire technique, but to expand each student’s body awareness, listening skills and expressive capacity.

Physical capacity is enhanced through play and creative imagination. The aim is to avoid mechanical repetition in order to discover new ways of moving. Strength and agility are trained to optimise the use of energy. The module includes learning the basics of floor acrobatics.

Movement techniques are used to achieve a flexible and responsive body. Learning is applied in choreographic sequences that traverse the entire space. contact is explored to share weight and timing with fellow students. The main focus is on active listening and adaptability between bodies.

We work on breath awareness and release to expand the vocal range. We delve deeper into stage presence and the genuine desire to communicate the spoken word. Creative play is used to explore various intentions and registers. All learning is ultimately channelled into serving the text material.
