The Moveo Diploma is a two-year professional course focused on theatre and performance arts, specializing in corporeal mime and physical theatre. It offers practical training and creative exploration to prepare students for a career in the performing arts.
This programme is ideal for actors, performers, and movement artists who want to develop their skills in physical theatre and mime. Whether you’re an experienced performer or just beginning your journey, the diploma offers comprehensive training tailored to all levels.
- Corporeal Mime: Techniques and performance practices developed from Étienne Decroux’s legacy.
- Physical Theatre: Exploring movement, expression, and storytelling through the body.
- Improvisation and Devising: Creating original performances.
- Acting Techniques: Integrating movement and interpretation.
- Intensive courses in Contemporary dance and voice work during the school year.
- Creative Projects: Opportunities to develop and present original works.
The programme runs for two academic years, with classes typically held Monday to Friday.
The day starts at 9:45 AM, and the classes finish at 2:00 PM. The space stays open for student practice in the afternoon.
Students can expect a mix of intensive training, practical workshops, and projects.
The third-year programme is open for students who have successfully graduated from the diploma programme.
Although prior experience in performing arts is a plus, Moveo does not rule out any applications. A passion for theatre and movement is essential. Our programme welcomes both beginners and those with performance backgrounds.
To apply, you’ll need to complete an application form, provide a brief personal statement, and attend an interview or audition and/or send us some video footage of your work. Detailed instructions can be found on this page.
Yes, students participate in the creation of a show presented in a theatre to the general public at the end of each course. They are also offered the opportunity to participate in collaborative projects and public performances, providing valuable stage experience and feedback.
Graduates can pursue careers as actors, performers, movement directors, and theatre makers. Many also use the skills gained to work in education, therapy, or interdisciplinary arts.
They can also, if selected, participate in the Moveo training programme for teachers if they want to train as physical theatre teachers after completing the 3rd year course.
