For more than 20 years, every summer, this course has welcomed students and professionals from more than 10 different countries, making it an international meeting place for artists and creators working in the field of movement – whether from the worlds of dance, theatre or the circus – as well as people interested in movement as a tool for building relationships

During this summer course in physical theatre, we tailor the work to each person’s level and pace, providing a space for exploration where every student can discover new ways of expressing themselves. Our aim is to open doors to a greater mastery of the body and movement, enabling every participant – regardless of their previous experience – to expand their artistic toolkit and creativity.

Furthermore, this summer course in physical theatre and corporeal mime at Moveo can serve as an entrance exam for the Centre’s diploma programme, enabling students to engage directly with the programme’s tutors and experience the core teaching principles of the Centre’s professional training

During the Summer Intensive, Barcelona will become a cultural hub with the GREC Festival, an international event encompassing theatre, dance, music and circus. This festival will offer a wide variety of performances in different parts of the city. It is an excellent opportunity to combine your training with Moveo and enjoy shows and activities in the afternoon or evening.

The following topics will be covered during the summer course in physical theatre:

• Stage presence: muscular tonicity and dramatic intention
• Physical articulation and spatial articulation
• Weight as a dramatic tool
• Study of displacements
• Dinamo – rhythms and textures of movement
• An introduction to the repertoire of corporeal mime
• Physical dialogue and stage interactions
• Improvisation
• Devising exercices

This course is aimed at professionals and students in the performing arts, anyone interested in physical theatre, and artists from other fields with an interest in the arts of movement and theatricality. This course offers a space to deepen your study and practice.

The Moveo Summer Workshop is led by a team of experienced tutors, who ensure that students enjoy a rich and varied learning experience. The team of tutors includes Olivier Decriaud, Stéphane Lévy and Sophie Kasser, who bring decades of experience in mime and physical theatre, as well as a wealth of artistic experience as actors and directors.

They are joined by Wong Chun Him (Bosco), Pau García and Laia Campamà, who bring fresh perspectives and energy to the course. Together, this team ensures a holistic and inspiring learning environment for the students on our physical theatre course.
